Rating of 3.71 out of 5 Unique ID (3304233559) Good stuff: Roomy bedroom and bathroom Overall: I should have liked to know if the hotel served meals other than breakfast. Or given recommendation of restaurants nearby. |

Rating of 4.43 out of 5 Unique ID (2201722) Good stuff: Attractive location, feeling of privacy, nice large room, charming and friendly greeting on arrival. Overall: Our large ground floor room had a nice feeling of privacy and a very strong sense of history: the house obviously accomodated one of the city's nouveau riche families of the early twentieth century and the visitor can therefore achieve a very strong sense of the 'lived life'of the city's past through the domestic interior. The area is similarly attractive and close enough to the centre of the city to make a brisk walk possible. The facilities are excellent and the hosts very charming, informative and agreeable. There is a reasonable sized secure car park at the rear and the breakfast staff were uniformly friendly and helpful. As well as many other nearby attractions one of Edinburgh's six heritage pubs - 'Leslie's Bar' - is only a short five minute walk away. Modest but recommended. |

Rating of 4.43 out of 5 Unique ID (1716214) Good stuff: Clean, Well equipped and spacious with windows that could be opened if neccessary. Bad stuff: You need to go outside and come back in to visit the breakfast room from the annex nezxt door. That would not be so good in severe weather. Overall: As above. |

Rating of 4.0 out of 5 Unique ID (1565228) Good stuff: Our room at the Thrums hotel was clean and had personality, it was great to feel I was away on holiday in the room vs. feeling as if it was just another boring hotel room enroute to a business meeting. Bad stuff: The water was yellow when it came out of the faucet. A bit scary, but it was explained. Overall: The Thrums hotel will give you a good experience and a taste of Edinburgh. |
