Good stuff: Staff extremely helpful and polite, very good Thai restaurant attached to hotel with friendly owner and superb food, free internet access. Easy parking down the street.

Bad stuff: Garden needs more work, fountain with lights looks a little pathetic.

Overall: Excellent value for money rooms in the centre of Edinburgh next to picturesque Calton Hill, an ideal place to stay for the frugal traveller with welcoming and accomodating staff.

Rating of 2.0 out of 5  Unique ID (107473174)

Guests Name: Duncan  Guest was travelling as: Solo business traveller

Good stuff: Central location. Fresh linen and bed prepared

Bad stuff: Bedroom door lockable from the inside only! Window frame stuck in open position leaving with only secondary glazing and resulting traffic noise. Breakfast was as stated but rolls/croissants clearly 'just' defrosted.

Overall: a pity that just for the sake of a little more care and attention to details the stay would have been so very much better.

Good stuff: Close proximity to local amenities.

Overall: Generally the hotel was adequate for our needs. Small issues were that the toilet seat in our room was broken, the lights in our room had fused and the central heating wasn't switched on.
