Rating of 4.0 out of 5 Unique ID (3305180224) Good stuff: Central location, car parking and easy to find. Bad stuff: Nothing - everything functioned as expected. Overall: The hotel is a busy one in a central position. It is clearly well used for many sporting occasions (rugby, football, tattoo, fringe festival etc.) - in fact, you can almost see into the Murrayfield stadium! This means that it can be busy (and somewhat noisy at times) but the bedrooms themselves are a distance away from the main lounge bar activities. Friendly, helpful staff. Good base for any holiday activities around Edinburgh. |

Rating of 2.86 out of 5 Unique ID (2393254) Good stuff: Closeness to downtown and airport...old style with attached dining room. The bed was good, and the place was quiet. I need not use the dining room, due to all the man around the place. Bad stuff: My room collected smoke from the downstairs bar..this became worst as the night progressed. The room had black mold in the bathroom, and what appeared to be black smoke in one corner. The carpet needs replacing. Right outside of my window were the recycling cans..these could have been moved. I am a single female, and I felt uncomfortable with all the man drinking beer in the yard (no women). Overall: Let the client know that it is a local hangout for man, and there is an active bar. I would not recommend this place to a non-smoker or a single woman. It is a good place if someone just wishes to stay one night. |

Rating of 3.0 out of 5 Unique ID (2306120) Good stuff: Clean, newly upgraded bathroom, good working order, nice dec orative order Bad stuff: dident realise the lodge was several buildings from main hotel, dident feel this was clear enough at time of booking Overall: because we were neither explained to nor given a paper room slip when we got to lodge we had no idea which room no(electronic room key)and rather than walking back to hotel we had to try several doors ,bit embarrassing |

Rating of 3.71 out of 5 Unique ID (2295469) Overall: The hotel was easy to find, clean tidy and my evening meal (in the bar) was excellent value; especially the free car park. The only complaint (minor) was that there was very little leg room between the toilet and the bath! Not practical for the 'fuller figure'. |

Rating of 2.57 out of 5 Unique ID (1836810) Bad stuff: This hotel is situated adjacent to a VERY busy main route into Edinburgh - and is consequently subject to heavy traffic noise all night. Also as a single female I was not very happy to be accomodated in a lodge away from the main hotel site. |

Rating of 4.71 out of 5 Unique ID (1616213) Good stuff: Helpfull staff who let me enter the room before I should have done. Bad stuff: No save place to leave my baggage before returning to pick it up at teatime Overall: Overall the stay was excellent. Nice friendly people and very easy access to Murrayfield Stadium where I was competing in a Darts tournament. |

Rating of 3.86 out of 5 Unique ID (1556967) Good stuff: cleanliness, space, atmosphere Bad stuff: I had a corner room onto the main road and therefore there was a lot of traffic noise all night - but I understand that in such an old building the atmosphere would be destroyed with double glazing - perhaps secondary glazing would help ? Overall: fine - staff could be a little 'friendlier' and forthcoming with information, but when approached generally very positive response - SMILE ;-) |

Rating of 2.29 out of 5 Unique ID (1556517) Good stuff: Relatively close to the City Centre - easy bus access. Bad stuff: Toilet smelled very bad - as if drains were faulty & it didn't look like it had been cleaned. Room very compact! No telephone to contact reception Overall: We paid a discounted price of £55 for one nights stay which we felt fair as we booked this very last minute. However if we paid full price we would have been disappointed. We were in an annexe part of the hotel & had no telephone to contact reception if needs be. Overall it was a place to lay our head for the night and for that reason it was satisfactory! |
