We are located on the north bank of the river that run through Edinburgh, the Water of Lieth. We are close by and thus there is easy access to both of the main railway stations. Within a few minutes walk you will find many of the major tourist attractions in the city. Recently having undergone a massive refurbishment program the Menzies Bedford has re-affirmed its place among the best of the best in the Scottish capital. We have a large car park and underground parking which is free to all of our staying guests.

Good stuff: it was clean and tidy and in a nice position

Good stuff: Breakfast was impeccable - couldn't be better - large buffet and hot food was very hot.

Bad stuff: Cleanliness (dark furniture hard to maintain, bathroom appeared a bit weathered, toilet difficult to flush); Reception staff not very friendly or approachable; Room a bit small so a bit pricey for what you get.

Good stuff: Clean, tidy. Convenient for city centre.

Good stuff: Good Hotel in fine location. Excellent breakfast.

Overall: Good value for money. Front desk staff need more training in customer service. Unable to give clear directions to the hotel over the phone. Unable to get the computer system to properly relate individuals to their rooms, causing confusion when making purchases at restaurant and bar.

Good stuff: Room and facilites were very good for value of money.

Bad stuff: The gastro pub that was attached and the food was excellent

Overall: The room and facilities were excellent value for money, the situation was perfect for continuation of my journey and the overall atmosphere was fantastic and comfortable

Bad stuff: tidy elegant room quite spacious with a smart en suite.

Overall: We had a brilliant stay here and considering we chose the hotel the night before it was a very good choice, although the traffic was a bit noisy it died down towards the end of the night. The evening meal was very nice and the service in general was perfect.

Overall: As regular visitors for weekend stays in Edinburgh,we normally try to get a room rate of about £60-£75 per night.Your hotel worked out rather more expensive than this at £89 per night,so although we were very pleased and would like to use itfor all our trips to Edinburgh,that would only be practical if we could get a rate of no more than £75 per room per night. Other than that we were delighted by all aspects of our stay at the Menzies Belford Hotel

Good stuff: The hotel was easy to find, with good parking facilities, which is usually a problem in central Edinburgh. We liked the overall design of the hotel which was stylish yet comfortable and welcoming.

Overall: We really enjoyed our stay and felt at home in the hotel. The staff were very good, yet unobtrusive. The food was excellent with a good variety of choices on the breakfast buffet. We had one evening meal in the Granary Bar which we enjoyed, and one evening meal in the Brasserie. The restaurant was very busy with Christmas parties and yet we did not feel that the service suffered in any way. There were enough staff, and although they were extremely busy, they were very attentive and should be congratulated.
