The Learmonth is an old townhouse hotels in Edinburgh steeped in tradition. We have tried top keep the original character of the building for you to enjoy. Also not forgetting a hearty Scottish welcome from all of our well trained staff for you.


We are quite central in Edinburgh and easy to find just off of the A90. Once you are here you will find this the perfect base to explore around our vibrant and historic city. For business people this is also a great place to stay only 10 minutes walk from the city centre makes sure you get that little bit of exercise we all need, but not to much. Once your day is through don't hesitate to relax with a drink and a meal in our renown restaurant and bar.

Overall: the hotel is obviously having structural work done as the lift was being renewed. This did not affect our stay and we enjoyed our break.

Good stuff: It was very comfortable and had a friendly atmosphere. The room was clean and had all the facilities you would need,


Bad stuff: There was no hairdryer in our room as was advertised.

Good stuff: Spacious


Bad stuff: Needs redecoration and bathroom upgrade. Windows didn't close properly.


Overall: Would be useful to know buses from Princes Street / Waverley Station etc.

Good stuff: The guy at reception when I arrived was exceptionally helpful and friendly.He also checked me out on the Thursday morning. room service till 10- bar till 11.


Bad stuff: Had to pay 4 use of soap and shampoo in rooms-appeared as extras in the bill.


Overall: It served my purposes. It was adequate as a no thrills/frills experience.

Good stuff: Cheap and functional


Bad stuff: Needs refurbishment.


Overall: The room was basic, and in need of refurbishment, but it seemed that that is happening in the hotel. But the staff were fine, and the room did the job perfectly, as I only needed a place to stay after the office Christmas party (I live out of town).
