Rating of 3.29 out of 5 Unique ID (97788524) Good stuff: It was a very good location Bad stuff: The shower was very temperamental and we had two single beds pushed together as a double. |

Rating of 3.29 out of 5 Unique ID (2308580) Good stuff: Central location Bad stuff: Breakfast - boring Continental style left in the fridge! Room was too hot - heating appeared to be on (hot pipe), needs fan in room or A/C. Too noisy as window had to be open. Overall: Early morning deliveries woke us up! Being in a pedestrian street did not prevent this intrusion. |

Rating of 3.86 out of 5 Unique ID (2004975) Good stuff: spacious rooms, windows that open to allow ventilation, central location Bad stuff: putting groups in rooms next to each other. We had two rooms on the same booking but were on different floors of the hotel Aftercare - one of our party left a blouse in the wardrobe of her room and discovered this after we had checked out. We went back to the hotel about an hour after leaving and checked the room but the blouse had disappeared and the housekeeping staff were no longer on duty. We were told to ring the hotel the following day, which we did (and several times thereafter) but no-one wanted to take responsibility for trying to ask the housekeeping staff and we never had the blouse returned. Overall: A bit pricey at first glance but proved to be worth the extra cost. Good central location, within walking distance of Waverley train station. Check in is after 3pm but a left luggage room is available til then (we arrived around 11am). Rooms spacious, so much so we could probably have all fitted in one had we known there were so many beds in what we booked as a twin room. Clean rooms and communal areas. Coffee shop / bar on ground floor meant we didn't have far to go for drinks or snacks, although there was ample tea & coffee provided in the rooms. Breakfast was a pre-packed affair already in the room fridge, which meant there was no need to get up early just to get to breakfast on time - as check out was 11am this meant you could have a lie in if desired. Pleasant and generally helpful staff, with the exception of the aftercare mentioned above, couldn't fault the place. |
