The Crown Plaza in Glasgow is on the Banks of the River Clyde and right next to the "Glasgow Armadillo" (SECC).

Lovely views across the water and right opposite is the amazing Science Centre, Tower and Imax - wonderfully educational and enlightening. Glasgow has so much to offer - filled with life, music, international cuisine from all corners of the world, themed pubs and clubs and one of the best shopping arenas outside of London. Head over to the pedestrianised areas of Buchanan Street, Sauchiehall Street and Argyll Street where you will also find the Arcade - home to over 30 jewellers.

If you prefer to dine closer to home we have two restaurants with delicious menus, a trendy bar which makes a perfect meeting place. Leisure facilities to ensure you keep in shape and relax.

For those with an appreciation of the arts, culture and history - this is the city to explore. Museums paying tribute to everything from Transport, Modern Art, Science and the rather unique St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art are all worth your time.

Gardens and Parks are a plenty - over to the West End are the Botanical Gardens or why not visit Pollock House and Country Park and People's Palace and Winter Gardens for wonderful water features and glorious greenery. Stroll, relax and breath in the air.

Bad stuff: The only bad point that can be taken into consideration is that i asked about family disabled accommodation, as my husband is in a wheelchair, which i was informed you have but that the rooms have baths instead of level access showers which would be alot more user friendly for the majority of disabled people and easier for carers

Good stuff: Accommodation was close to city centre and also right beside the SEEC, it was clean and friendly and the swimming pool times were excellent and we managed to get a swim at 9:30pm. The left luggage was also in the hotels favour as our car broke down and they kept our luggage for us all day.


Bad stuff: The hotel is under some construction work - and at 8:35am the banging and drilling beside our room was just horrendous - We were on a break as I am 7 months preganant and going to hospital on the Monday in Glasgow, I was resting but woken up with all the noice and had no alternative but to get up.


Overall: The hotel is lovely and you can walk along the mille mum bridge and back over bells bridge and visit the new picture house and science centre - that is just 2 min walk from hotel.
