Rating of 3.86 out of 5 Unique ID (97064399) Good stuff: Location, car parking, good breakfast, clean Overall: Excellent central location for our trip which was principally for christmas shopping, as we were able to drop off loads at a time and then return to the shops. Similarly, being able to park in the city centre was a real advantage. Well placed for a wide wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants. Choice at breakfast was welcome and tasty, and very efficiently served. Friendly welcome and clean, if not salubrious accomodation, but at very reasonable prices, the Broughton is excellent value. |

Rating of 3.71 out of 5 Unique ID (3304343362) Good stuff: Friendly and helpful staff. Good location about 10 - 15 minute walk from Princes Street and Waverley Bridge. Breakfast was good, especially the bacon, maple syrup and waffles. Overall: We had a really enjoyable stay. Edinburgh is a great city and we were in a good location 10-15 minutes from Princes Street but also there are several restaurants, cafes and pubs only a few minutes walk from the hotel. The owner was very helful. We were in Edinburgh for a long weekend that took in the 2007 Rugby World Cup match Scotland v NZ and she directed us to the nearest bus stop and recommended the best/quickest bus route to get to Murrayfield. The nearest bus stops were only a few minutes from the hotel and the bus service was very good and relatively cheap at £2.50 for an all day ticket/pass. We will definately return to Edinburgh and would happily stay at the Broughton again. |

Rating of 4.29 out of 5 Unique ID (3304396048) Good stuff: Quiet at all times excellent situation for theatre and restaurants Bad stuff: Everthing was really comfortable and we had no complaints at all Overall: Staff member was really helpful and allowed us to leave our luggage on the morning of our departure to allow us to go shopping. The St.James Centre was only 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel as was numerous restaurants and pubs |

Rating of 5.0 out of 5 Unique ID (3304302140) Good stuff: Clean, comfortable and adequate for our overnight stay, although we have been happy to stay longer. Breakfast very good. Staff very pleasant. Bad stuff: None that we noticed Overall: Perfectly adequate for an overnight or longer stay. Probably not too suitable for the less mobile as need to go down/up a steep hill but good value when you got there. Would have liked evening meal available but many in the near vicinity that are very good. Clean, comfortable, good breakfast and pleasant staff. |

Rating of 3.57 out of 5 Unique ID (3304062757) Good stuff: The locality. Away from the hustle and bustle, but only 5-10 mins. from the railway station. Friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Bad stuff: Cannot really comment, we only stayed for one evening. Overall: We were in Edinburgh for a wedding. Without being asked, the staff offered to telephone a taxi for us, which was very much appreciated. On the day of departure, we did not leave until early evening. There was no problem in leaving our overnight bags in the hotel, which was very much welcomed as it saved on the cost of leaving the bags at the railway station (or having to carry them around for the whole day!) |

Rating of 4.0 out of 5 Unique ID (1831740) Good stuff: The lovely friendly lady who served us breakfast and the convenience to the city centre Bad stuff: The obnoxious Guest beside us at breakfast, bedroom a bit dingy no space for locker! Overall: In our view not really a hotel but a Bed and Breakfast, with a good breakfast. The decor was very worn and dated in the bedroom but very clean and very convenient to all the sights . Very reasonable and we were offered a good discount for paying cash! We would def stay there again. Lovely ladies who dealt very well with an extremely rude guest on our second morning! |

Rating of 3.14 out of 5 Unique ID (1964530) Good stuff: Location Bad stuff: Room at the top of the house which did not help my arthritic leg. No other rooms available so little point in pursuing the matter. Musty smell in hall and stairwell |

Rating of 4.57 out of 5 Unique ID (1572225) Good stuff: Very friendly and helpful staff. Cleanliness was excellent. Bad stuff: Eventhough the breakfast was delicious, I thought it was a little too early. Between 9am and 10am would be better. |

Great location too and a pleasant place to stay. Many thanks Bad stuff: In room 1 with adjoining wall to next door who were noisy until the landlord asked them to turn down the music - which they did Overall: Great place, extremely helpful staff.I will return! |
