With splendid views from some of the rooms over the city, we are in quiet surrounding, yet close enough to the city be handy. Braid Hills is located to the south of Edinburgh city centre approximately 2.5 miles out. Quite simple to find just off of the A702.

Located in the residential Greenbanks area of the city in Morningside, about 3km South of the city centre. Staying here surrounds you with 3 golf courses and other open spaces. However easy access to the centre is granted from the regular buses which run from just outside the hotel.

All of our 67 rooms have private shower or bath facilities. Rooms have that personal touch to the finish that gives the Braid Hills hotel a unique charm of its own.

Good stuff: really good location, views and staff. The decor and furnishngs were above average.

Bad stuff: Low water pressure meant a very weak shower and poor flush for the lavatory.

Overall: Generally good value and a very pleasant hotel. Might be wise to request a bath rather than shower until the hotel can fix the pressure problem (which they seemed to know about when we mentioned it).

Good stuff: The hotel was warm and staff friendly

Bad stuff: The room was small and position of TV made it difficult to watch

Overall: Access to the hotel generally was difficult and especially to the rooms which was difficult for my husband who had mobility problems. Would have been useful if dietary requirements taken into account - menu marked with symbol to show suitable for vegetarians etc. Would also have been useful if other dietary needs catered for (even if asked to notify in advance).
