Inn on the Mile Edinburgh 1 South Bridge Online Booking

Picture of Inn on the Mile

This hotel is a lovely little historic building that used to be an actual working bank in its day. Today it has been updated and fitted out with all the mod cons you would expect to make it a great place to spend some time.

If you would like to spend some time relaxing with a drink after a meal until bedtime, this is the right place for you to select.

To find us from Waverly station is really simple. Come out of the station onto the North Bridge. Turn left, away from Prince's Street and walk South for about 350 yards. As you reach the junction of North Bridge and The Royal Mile you will see us just across the cobbled junction, Welcome!

The Inn of the Royal Mile also houses a Bar. this is and has been for years a very popular venue for locals and visitors alike both dining and relaxing with a drink is on the bottom floor.

Our reception area is at the back of the bar so you can come and get a feel for the place before you book in. An oak panel door at the rear opens to expose the stairs leading up to your rooms. Each of our rooms is decorated in a unique manor to celebrate a famous Scotsman. Mr James Watt being one and another Robert Burns. True Scottish character is what we pride ourselves in and sharing it with you will be our pleasure.

Good stuff: The location was perfect. The size of the room & bathroom was very generous. The breakfast was superb.

Bad stuff: The reception being combined with the bar although this was of little importance.

Overall: My wife and I were pleased with our choice of hotel. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful. There could not be a hotel better placed from where it is easy to access both Edinburgh's New and Old Towns on foot.
